Bench ball

In PE this morning we played bench ball and the classes had to answer some questions about teamwork and make some rules about bench ball.

How you play bench ball is you get in a team ( my team was the same team that we played Ki O Rahi in) and you set up a court with 2 benches at each end. Then one of the players stands on the bench and the rest of the team go and pass the ball up to the person on the bench. Your not allowed to run or walk with the ball and your also not allowed to hit the ball out of the persons hands. How you win is to get everyone on the team onto the bench, also if your the last person you can bounce the ball once then throw it to people on the bench.

My team from Ki O Rahi worked on inclusion and positive attitudes playing the game. Because in Ki O Rahi and playing football we did OK but we thought we could do better.

We did pretty good with inclusion and positive attitudes when playing the game of bench ball.  We played better together than we did in Ki O Rahi at least that's what I think I don't know if my team thinks that but I do.

Writing about revolution tour

My writing about the revelation tour that came on Tuesday.

On Tuesday 28th May the revelation tour came to our school. They did lots of fun activities and they also told us about a story. My favourite game was when a guy from the tour Reggie played an instrument to a song and we had to sing the chorus. That was my favourite but the song I hated came on, the song Let It Go, was one of the songs in the game. I knew most of the song and when let it go came on I just tried not to hear it but it wasn't working. Also Reggie told a little bit about his story to the year 7-10 that were there at the time and it was cool and sad at the same time because when he was younger he got bullied so bad. Near the end some people went up on stage and answered one question that was true or false about bullying. But I still think my favourite part of the whole thing was the song singing thing, even if the song I hated came on. I also think the thing I learned from it was not to bully someone but if they let you you can tease them and have a bit of fun.

Descriptive writing

I had to the the descriptive writing again because I didn't do it right so here is my second one.

LO: Create a piece of writing that describes a place or setting inspired by your song.

My writing
One gorgeous day I saw people all around playing or making some kind of music,
all at once it sounded a little chaotic. I heard drums, guitars, pianos, people trying to make ASMR,
also singing. It was crazy thinking back but in the moment it was so cool.
The birds were singing  and dancing to the music gracefully it was an awesome day.
It was really sunny that day but there was also a bit of wind so it wasn’t boiling.
I also saw people making raps and tracks and it sounded so cool.
But after a while all the music slowly stopped and 10 minutes after it started to stop no one was there.

That's my writing.

Descriptive writing

We had to try and make a really descriptive writing inspired by our music we made last week.

This is what we had to try and do

LO: Create a piece of writing that describes a place or setting inspired by your song.

My writing:

My class went into the loud music room with lots of people making noise, it was really cool
and overwhelming at the same time because my class had never been in the music room before.
Everyone was playing a instrument and making noise with either their mouth or making a rap
it was so cool and my class got shown around the whole room which was ginormous.
Sometimes we either got lost within all the people or just get lost in the massive room.
Like 20 people were trying to make ASMR at the exact same time, also like 10-20 people
were making a beat on their devices and they didn’t all have headphones so it was a lot to hear at once
but it was alright. The students in the music room were in the middle of class and they let my class come
and see what they were doing, my class even helped them a bit if the students in my class wanted to.
My class and the other class got told to sit on the chairs that were in the room and we were told that we
were going to be budded up and make some pretty good music to share with the 2 classes.

That's all my writing that I did of my music from last week.

Creative writing

When we finished the writing we had to finish we got to do creative writing

If I could choose from living in the city or living in the country I would live in the middle where there is some stuff like a city but also animals and stuff that's in the country. Like there are some cool places where kids or teens can hangout but also like places where we can like look and pet animals like a zoo. Because if my friends want to hangout after school or in the weekend.

That's all I thought of writing about in my creative writing card my teacher gave me.

Ki O Rahi instructions

We had to make instructions on how to play Ki O Rahi

How to play Ki O Rahi

Step 1: Get all the equipment you need
  • Ki / Ball
  • Pou / post or pole
  • Tupu / the bin in the middle
Step 2: Get into a team with at least 4 or more people in it
Step 3: Assign roles within the team

Step 4: Set up the field correctly
It looks something like this
Step 5: Get together with another team and choose if you want to be Kioma or Taniwha.

Taniwha:
When taniwha are in possession of the ball, their aim is to score by throwing the ki at the tupu from the te roto zone.

3g4g writing

This is the writing that I did about the trip my school went on in week 3.

On Tuesday the 14th of May the year 7 + 8s at my school went to the Fo Guang Shan temple. Half of the year 7 + 8s
went in the morning and the other half went in the afternoon. I went in the morning with 4 other classes.
It took about 5-10 minutes to get there.
When we got to the temple the 4 classes were split into 2 groups, 2 classes were in each group.
My group did a flower that I forgot the name of first, we could choose colours and mine was orange. I
n the same room  we watched a video of a buddha then we had to answer some questions.
Like 5 minutes after we answered questions we went to the library, we didn’t do much but we had to be
silent to our next place or we couldn’t get them.
After that we went to have a snack and get fake tattoos. Like 5-10 minutes after that we went to a bg room and did
meditating with both groups.
That was like 10-20 minutes long than we went back on the bus back to school. Then the other 4 classes went to the temple.

Here are some pictures:

That's basically what happened on the trip.

How to put a slideshow onto your blog

This is a helpful slideshow to show you how to put a slide onto your blog.

That's how you put a slideshow onto your blog from a Chromebook it's actually really easy \when you know how to do it correctly.

Music mood writing

We had to write 6 sentences about how a piece of music made us feel and what we thought was going on in our heads.

My writing: On my 12th birthday a magic kit was on top of my drawers. I opened the kit and music started playing. It sounded like a movie that my siblings would watch. But it was cool anyways it had puppies and kittens. I realised this after the scare of my life but surprisingly my siblings were hiding behind me when I opened the kit. But then they gave me the fright of my life when they screamed happy birthday. I thought the kit was pretty cool util my siblings gave me the fright of my life.

The kit looked similar to this picture:

That's my writing about the piece of music my class had to write about.

PE

In PE this term we are learning to play Ki O Rahi. We have PE on Tuesdays and Fridays this term so this is a mix of all we did this term so far.

At the start of PE we just played a few games to get used to being in a team. The first game we played was bench ball it was pretty fun to play. I forgot who was in my team but I remember it was all girls. Then when I was away apparently my class played multi sport, I don't know what they did because I wasn't there.

After we got kind of used to being in teams we started to play games that are similar to Ki O Rahi. I forgot the names of the games. After that we got in teams to be in for the rest of the term we made a doc about the name of our team and our mascot. Our team name was the panda's. Today we played Ki O Rahi for real in the teams we chose. It was pretty hard because we didn't know exactly how to play.

The link to my team's doc we made: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sQksbjfNPJzuGDX29rGjwMiJ28TCegOBjTzaOc0HClM/edit?ts=5cd4ccb1

That's all we have done so far in this term.

ASMR

Today in music we were looking at different ASMR videos. We had a few questions to answer.

1. Have you heard of ASMR before today? Yes I have I used to watch it with my friends a lot.

2. What did you feel when you listened to the ASMR music? It felt cool and I liked her singing and she sang really well in that video.

3. Is there something you'd like to try making? I really want to make one singing but I'm to nervous to sing in front of people or online. But they sounded really cool.

I think this video of a girl singing is really cool: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4YWdKKmjgQ

Lady Gaga DLO

We had to make a DLO about a famous music artist. The teachers gave us 4 options and this is who I picked.

Hope you liked my DLO.

Integrity

Hi today I am going to tell you what I thing integrity means.

Having integrity means like telling the truth to adults or just anyone older than you because we all at least lie to our siblings once in our life.

You can show integrity at school by if you did something wrong or you get in trouble by the teacher you don't lie. Like if they think you did something wrong just tell the teacher if you truly did this or not.

Three ways I have shown integrity are telling my teacher the truth about my work and listening to the teacher, telling my parents and my friends the truth. Being a role model to my friends or siblings younger than me.

That's all the ideas I have for integrity today.

Music Week 1

This week we had to search up New Zealand artist and bands facts about them, after we had to make a DLO about them.

We had to search up 2 facts, the members (for the band) and the real name and birthday (for the birthday)

These are the ones I made:

Hope you like my research.

Spelling

I don't really like spelling at all, I think its really boring but I do it because I have to. I just don't like it for some reason I just think its boring but I don't know why.

I don't know what else to write about spelling
