In CIP today we had to make a poster about what we thunk we need and what we think that was a want.

The definition of want is stuff you don't need but you really want, or that is way to expensive for your parents or you to buy.

The definition of need is what you need to survive so you don't die, or get sick.

My want meaning:
My phone to be fixed because my phone broke.
New scooter because I got my other one when I was 8-9 and I'm 12 now and I'm to tall for it.
Be in a football club because I played football for school since year 6.
My sibling not hanging with my friends basically because my brothers are annoying and they always hang around my friends and I.
The last one be taller because I get called shorty even by people shorter than me, plus my siblings do it as well and its annoying.

This is my poster I made about what I need and what I want

That's my poster about my needs and wants.

'Conservation'

  • Climate Science
  • Global Warming
  • Recycling
  • Renewable Energy
  • Fossil Fuels
  • Ecology
  • Our Planet
  • Water
  • Plants
  1. 15 Points are needed to get a badge
  2. A high standard of work.
  • All experiments are written up ( Aim, Materials, Steps, Conclusion)
  • Two photos of your experiment
  • 6 sentences at least for a conclusion

Science will be twice per week.

  • Lesson 1: This will be an Experiment that involves blogging. You will be expected to open a new post, copy Mr Palmer's blog and paste it on your new post.
  • Lesson 2: This will be an Investigation that relates to the topic from Lesson 1. It will be own choice and displayed in a way that you prefer. For example - PowerPoint, Doc, etc

BLOGGING.

All the blogs and science lessons will be displayed on Mr Palmers blog:

Bookmark it!

Expectations:
  • 1 blog must be completed per Hurumanu lesson.
  • A completed blog must have the four headings ( Aim, Method, Findings, Conclusion), correct writing and punctuation under each heading and be published. No post, no points.
  • 2 images of the experiment / investigation on the blog.
Using the Scientific method of investigation:

Aim: What the experiment / investigation is about.
Method: Instructions on how the experiment / investigation is carried out. This includes the equipment.
Findings: What have we learnt or found out from our experiment / investigation. This is called Data, Information or Facts. It is displayed in a chart, table or picture.
Conclusion:

My Hurumanu Science Goals:

1. Try to get my work finished.

2. Try not to get bored doing my work. I will try and make my investigations interesting.

3.  Leave stuff alone we are not allowed to use or stuff that's not mine.

Learning story for music

In music we had to make a learning story like we did at the end of science so here's mine from music.

My learning story:

In music we made biographies about singers, we made our own lyrics to a song, we wrote about
ASMR and lots more things. I think music was ok, I didn’t love it at all but I did the work and what the
teacher said. I think the most boring part of music was either the blogging or the writing,
everything else was ok but I didn’t love anything.

I got to use Ipads for garage band, my chromebook for most of the things,
and my book for some writing or getting information.
Sometimes we got into pairs or big group to do some of our work,
I think I like being in a pair or a group for any task but the task I remember my group in was when we
had to make a song on garage band and that went really well.

I wasn’t away for much in music except for when my class did a slide called music through the
decades, since I didn’t start when they were doing that I was doing reading plus or my other work.
But with all the task when I needed help with I asked the teachers question and
I figure out how to do what I needed to figure out for that task.

I think I am pretty good at reflecting on my learning because when I had to write on my blog about the
bands and solo musician from New Zealand, I think I explained the task ok.

Also I stay on my task and use my device for my task and the only time I’m on games is when I’m at
home in my room. When they were doing music for the decades I had to do reading plus and
I don’t like reading plus at all but I did it anyways.

That's my learning story.

What we are grateful for

Today in CIP we had to make a poster of what we were grateful for. This is just a poster of the small thing I thought of that I am grateful for.

Hope you like my poster.

Giving and receiving

This week in CIP we watched a video about kindness boomerangs and how it works.

We watched a video about how a little girl wanted to buy a cake for her grandpa but she didn't have enough money. So a kind man saw the little girl not being able to buy the cake and he thought he could buy it for her and surprise her. After he brought the cake he surprised the girl and told her that when he was her age a stranger brought him a cake as well, he didn't know his name or anything about him but he did give the little boy a note. The little girl reminded him of when he was her age wanting to get a cake and not being able to and getting that note. He wrote a similar not to the one he got years before he did this for the little girl. After the little girl got home to her grandpa she showed him the cake and the note. He was the person who gave the note to the little boy which was now a man. So he gave kindness and the kindness came back to him.

I think the video was nice and I also think the girl grandpa felt nice when he saw that note.
