The marketing mix - promotion

In business studies were doing some work around our school market day. Year 7-9 are making products to sell and on the day were going to sell them to the parents, teacher, parents and anyone else who wants to buy stuff.

My groups advertisement:

We are thinking mostly people that like jewellery would buy our products more than people who wouldn't really wear it. We re going to let this slide / poster on the market day slideshow advertising thing. Also on the actual day we made a different poster and put a lot of colours on it. Also our products were colourful on it's own. Our products advertising mostly was bases around the product part of the marketing mix and a little bit of price.

The marketing mix - place

In business studies were doing some work around our school market day. Year 7-9 are making products to sell and on the day were going to sell them to the parents, teacher, parents and anyone else who wants to buy stuff.

For market day were using this type of selling called direct channel, which is when the person/people who make products sell it to people who wants it. More than likely there will be more b&e groups making what were making so we probably might want to be somewhere a lot of people can see our table when they walk by.

I think we will be fine and a lot of people will buy our products if were in the right place where people can see us and make sure our table stands out.

The marketing mix - price

In business studies were doing some work around our school market day. Year 7-9 are making products to sell and on the day were going to sell them to the parents, teacher, parents and anyone else who wants to buy stuff.

My group is making bracelets, earrings and rings, how we decided on the prices was we all talked about it while we were making advertisements. We all came to an agreement that the bracelets should be $1 and then we decided that the earring should be a little more and the rings a little less. So we just took away 50c of the rings and added 50c for the earrings. If a lot of people just want rings that might be a little harder to make money than a lot of people wanting earrings.

I'm not sure what the other b&e groups that are making jewellery are selling them at but I think we will make a bit of money and our prices are pretty reasonable.

The marketing mix - products

In business studies were doing some work around our school market day. Year 7-9 are making products to sell and on the day were going to sell them to the parents, teacher, parents and anyone else who wants to buy stuff.

My group is making jewellery, specifically were making bracelets, earrings and rings. The gonna be all different pattern and sets, were making them all homemade from the stuff we have at home and the extra stuff were getting from school. We are planning on packaging them all in brown paper bags with little thank you cards in every bag.

We don't really think people who like more sport things not so much girly things won't buy our products just because they won't enjoy it. But either way I think it's going to be fun if we get a lot of people buying it or not much people.

Hurumanu 6 - Politics

A couple weeks ago we started hurumanu 6, which is basically New Zealand politics and stuff similar to that. A couple days ago we had to get in a group and make a new political party and share it with our whole block.

Our political name is United Voices, and out logo is Your Vote, Your Voice. Our political group is about equality which falls under a lot of things. The main things were doing is education, housing, equality in work pays, education and health. The people in my group are Sierra, Daisy, Paea, Bryce and I. Sierra is the leader but were really working together with everything.

Football

At school we were supposed to play actual games of football this term but since not enough people wanted to play outdoor this season we ended up not being able to make a team. But we did work around that and we were just doing games at lunch on Tuesdays. It started off only being only girls but by the end some guys were allowed to join and I personally like mixed gender team / games anyways.

Next term we will be able to play indoor against other schools and hopefully have enough for a full team like the start of the year.

Energy transformation experiment

Different types of energy's:
1. Kinetic
2. Electric
3. Sound
4. Light
5. Chemical
6. Potential
7. Gravitational
8. Nuclear

Chemical + Electrical = Phone, chargers, computers, battery
Light + Chemical = Torch
Kinetic + light = Anything moving with light.

Aim:
To make a marshmallow shooter that transforms energy.

Equipment:
Marshmallows, scissors, cups and a balloon.

Method
1. Cut the bottom of the cup.
2. Cut the bottom of the balloon.
3. Stretched the balloon onto the part of the cut where there hole is.
4. Put the marshmallow in the centre of the balloon.
5. Pull the balloon back and fire it.

\Conclusion:
The energy change goes from elastic potential to kinetic energy after the marshmallow was fired. Over all I think the activity was pretty fun and a good idea to do with your friends.

NZ government

We had to make a presentation about NZ government this is what I made.

Energy

Definition: Stored in different objects and the ability to move something.

Different kinds of energy:
  1. Light energy (which gives light like in microwaves and x-rays)
  2. Heat energy (this is found in all hot objects)
  3. Sound energy ( energy used for vibrating objects/hearing different stuff)
  4. Chemical potential energy ( this is stored in particles mostly in food)
  5. Electric energy (the energy found in wires, generators and lighting)
  6. Gravitational potential (energy stored in objects which will make a noise or dent in the ground)
  7. Kinetic energy (energy moving different when something moves like when cars move or you do something active)
  8. Elastic potential energy (energy stored in stretched rubber bands/strings)

No more plastic bags

In textiles we are researching why plastic bags are bad and trying to think of ideas instead of plastic bags. Here is what I found.

Why are there no more plastic bags? In NZ plastic bags were banned in July 2019 because there was so much waste not just in NZ all around the world. Most of it kept coming in the ocean and killing the animals after a while.

Plastic bags are made from polyethylene, the reason polyethylene is pretty bad is because it takes away a lot of natural gas to make it into a plastic bag.

Alternatives to plastic bags. Paper bags, cotton / reusable bags, reusable plastic bags.

Science introduction

The topics we will be studying in science are:

1. Energy types.

2. Energy transformation

3. Waves

4. Sound

5. Light

6. The eye

7. Reflection and retraction of light

8. Electricity

9. Circtus

10. Magnitisom

All experiments will use the scientific method. The heading used for this will be:

1. Aim

2. Hypothesis
